Weekly Photos Update!

Weeks 18 and 19 flew by! We were in Disneyland for most of week 18, and I got a photo in front of the castle:

The bump was big that day!

Week 19 found us back at home, and we found out that baby #2 is a boy! He wasn't shy about showing himself to us! I'll spare you the picture of his parts. :)

I've been feeling good lately, and haven't felt him moving too much except when I lay on my stomach. He's not a fan of that! I've been trying to run more when the weather allows for it, but I feel bad taking Amelia out when it's cold and windy!

Cheap Entertainment!

Plastic bucket: $3.50
Two containers of oats: $3.30
Watching Amelia play with this combo over and over again: priceless

Ok, so clean up won't be very much fun, but she contained most of the mess to the towel I laid down. Next time I'll use a sheet, or get a plastic shower curtain. I ended up with quite a few oats stuck to my pants because I was sitting next to her.
It was worth it though! She loves this bucket! I recommend including some toys to play with, like stacking cups, a measuring cup, or connecting rings.

Disney Day 1!

Today's day at Disney was one of the shortest I've ever had, one of the most exhausting, and I dare say the most magical. There's just something about walking down Main Street with your daughter tugging you along that makes every other trip seem less amazing.

As soon as we arrived, we tried to go into a store to get Amelia a hat because she has outgrown all of hers. She was not a fan of leaving Main Street, however, and screamed until we went back outside. So we slapped on sunscreen and went for it.

We saw Tigger right away, and Amelia was very excited! She was fascinated by all of the characters and sad whenever they walked away. She met Tigger, Eeyore, Pooh, and Minnie!

She woke up at 5:20 Austin time, and fell asleep at 9:30 Austin time with only a 15 minute snooze on the airplane and an hour nap on Pirates of the Caribbean (and in the stroller afterward). Even with all of that activity and hardly any sleep, she was in a good mood 95% of the day!

Tim and I enjoyed some Dole Whip floats while she snoozed. If you haven't had one, go to Disneyland just so you can experience the yummy!

Amelia was unsure on the rides. It didn't help that we started with Snow White, which scared the daylights out of her. She did a little better on Casey Jr.'s Train, but was scared again on Winnie the Pooh. We think she gets scared when the rides are too loud. She loved Pirates (well, mostly because she was asleep the entire time).

Hopefully tomorrow she will have a little more energy for the rides and won't be scared!

Amelia's favorite part of the day was driving the cars in Toon Town and going on the slide there in Goofy's garden. She was very sad to leave!

Why Does Mommy Smell Like Pee?

We haven't even boarded the plane and I smell like pee. We made the rookie mistake of not changing Amelia's diaper right when she woke up. I say we, but I mean he. Tim got her out of bed, therefore this is his fault, right? Regardless, I'm the one with pee that is not my own running down my leg. Sigh.

It can only get better, right?

Lost Sleep, New Projects

Has anyone else ever lost sleep because of a great idea rattling around in your head?

This morning, my dear husband woke up an hour early for work.  Normally I hear his alarm, and go straight back to bed.  This morning, however, I decided to sneak out of bed while he was in the shower and leave him a little note in his computer bag.  He's been really stressed out with work lately, and Amelia's cling-on phase (which he is sadly left out of).  After my mission was complete, I got back into bed to spread out and stick my feet in all the cold places in the sheets.

That's when the idea started rattling.  A few days ago, my mom and I talked about making a maternity countdown t-shirt because I have not taken any belly shots yet and I want to make sure I start before I get too far along.  Now I found a few different ones online (priced anywhere from $27-$39) but I don't want to pay that much.  I also found about a dozen different tutorials.  I think I'm going to experiment with my cricut and try to cut some letters out of fabric so I can iron them on.  Now to get this all done before Tuesday so I can wear it on our trip when I will reach 18 weeks!

**We now interrupt this post for a breaking news story**

As I was typing this, Amelia got the miniature bottle of hand sanitizer off of the diaper bag and brought it to me.  When I saw it, I asked her if I could have it, and put it back on the diaper bag...

MELTDOWN ensued.

Since she was mad already, I changed her diaper.  That did not help.

She's been rolling around on the playroom floor screaming for more than 7 minutes now.

Terrible twos, you're not supposed to be here yet!

I guess my project will wait.  :)

Book Overload!

There is no doubt that Amelia is my daughter. She devours books at a faster rate than I do these days (granted, hers are a lot shorter). Every morning and every night she takes stacks and stacks of books off of her shelves, toddles over to me, cautiously backs up until her booty is within range, and plops down on my lap. She lets me read most of her books all the way through. She loves her princess storybook, but really just wants to thumb through the pages and see the pictures.

She also likes to sit in her princess chair and read. She does the same backward shuffle to make sure she won't miss the chair. It's one of my favorite things to watch her do.

Sometimes Tonks joins us and listens in. These mornings are amazing. My girls and I.
At night, Tim joins us. Amelia is going through a phase where Daddy is allowed to read the books, but Mommy has to hold them and Amelia has to be in my lap. This gets tiring, especially since by the end of the day I'm ready for a break, and Tim is ready for some Amelia time. I'm trying not to get frustrated by this because I know that one day soon she will reject my lap altogether.

For now I'll cherish this time together, and hopefully create a lifelong lover of books.

Disney Bound!

I can't stop bouncing. At this time next week we will be leaving Disneyland after our first day there. I am so excited to share with Amelia the place that has brought me so much happiness! The shirts are made:

The princess dress has been purchased:

The surprise that my brother, sister in law and nephew are meeting us there and he doesn't know it has been planned!

Now, what to do for the next 6 days while we wait to leave?!
